[In Jesus,] we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16
2010
Worship services were hosted at St. Basil Catholic School from January to May. However, the services had to be discontinued because the space we were using was not consistently available.

The Building Committee continues to make progress on the building concept. Working with the architect, a floor plan and exterior design were created and was the basis of a cost estimate provided by the construction manager, Genesis Construction. This cost estimate was within the target that the congregation had approved and will allow the committee to keep proceeding forward. The committee will now be exploring the process of obtaining land use approval from the City.

2009
The Loving Saviour Fundraising Committee held a very successful fundraising campaign early in the year and has developed a funding model that will be utilized by the Building Committee to develop the mission site. The Building Committee has retained Woods Parker Architects and is working with them to develop a building concept that will suit the site and is also viable under the funding model. It is anticipated that the congregation will review the building concept and approve it by year end.

In the fall, we also secured space for worship in the gymnasium at St. Basil Catholic School. Our team started planning to relaunch worship services to begin early in 2010.

2008
The Loving Saviour Ministry plan is launched. The land agreement was approved by District and FLC; the Loving Saviour Building Committee and Fundraising Committees were established. Work is ongoing with respect to creating a viable facility and funding plan which would include a pre-school and fit for purpose space for church and community.
2007
The FLC congregation approved the name "Loving Saviour" for the mission site and ministry. A Loving Saviour Launch Team is organized to create a comprehensive ministry and re-launch plan and to oversee its implementation.

The Genesis
In 1995 the Alberta-British Columbia District ("District") of Lutheran Church Canada approached Vic and Elfie Fisher with the idea of purchasing approximately 40 acres of land in the Tuscany area. Vic and Elfie, as longstanding members of Foothills Lutheran Church ("FLC"), thought that the idea was a good one. They were thinking about retirement and believed that the District vision of acquiring land for a future mission church site was inspired. In short order, the agreement was signed. What follows below is a brief overview of the subsequent years of activity.
